The music (not the singing) is reminiscent of “Hot Rats” Era Frank Zappa. Any influence there?

In regards to the American report of professor Gates not being recognized by his neighbor upon jimmying his own door to enter his own home: That neighborhood needs to get to know each other – that is why the U.S.A. is promoting “National Night Out” each year! We are supposed to know who lives across the street from us and next door to us. That knowledge would have aided the persons involved.
