Geo Quiz

Rebranding

Flying can be the quickest way to travel. Until you discover the airport you’re arriving in is actually nowhere near your final destination. For today’s Geo Quiz we’re looking at airports near London.

Well… kind of near.

First there’s Heathrow — about fifteen miles west of London. London’s second largest airport, Gatwick, is twenty-eight miles south of the city.

Then there’s London Luton Airport in Bedfordshire, and Stansted Airport in Essex, both farther away still.

Now ANOTHER airport has added “London” to its name. We want you to identify it for today’s quiz. It’s a small airport more than sixty miles northwest of London. And it serves a city that’s well known in its own right.

Here’s a big hint: the city is home to the oldest university in the English-speaking world.

So where IS the newest “London” airport?

And just a reminder… it’s not in London.

Geo Answer:

_46217914_airport_170809Speaking of expansion, let’s get back to our Geo Quiz. We want you to name the newest London airport which isn’t quite in London.

It’s more than sixty miles away, in fact. And if you haven’t figured it out yet, we were talking about Oxford airport….

Which now calls itself “London Oxford Airport”. Managers there hope that rebranding will help drum up more business.
