A BBC investigation in Afghanistan has found evidence of voter fraud and corruption in the run-up to Thursday’s elections. According to the BBC investigation, thousands of voter ID cards (above) have been offered for sale and thousands of dollars have been offered in bribes to buy votes. arcticThe strange tale of a Russian-owned cargo ship that went missing is getting a little stranger. First the “Arctic Sea” was reported missing somewhere between Finland and its destination Algeria. Then came reports that the boat may have been hijacked not once, but twice. On Friday, the vessel was spotted somewhere off the coast of Cape Verde. Now Russia says it’s arrested eight hijackers. Kim Dae Jung was responsible for opening up relations with North Korea after more than four decades of unrelenting hostility. It was called the Sunshine Policy. He spent his life pursuing democracy and the reunification of his country with the North. He overcame the most daunting series of events – a kidnapping, repeated arrests, beatings, exile and a death sentence, emerging as a Nobel Laureate and ground-breaking leader of his country.
