The name pretty much says it all. The band “Delhi 2 Dublin” plays a free-flowing mix of Indian bhangra and Irish jigs. It’s a blend of Irish fiddles and Indian tablas, not to mention sitars and electric guitars. Throughout the summer this Vancouver-based band has been playing concerts from Canada to California. Reporter Lonny Shavelson recently caught up with them at a gig in San Francisco.

Initial counting from Afghanistan’s presidential election shows incumbent Hamid Karzai with a slight lead. With 10% of the ballots counted, the election commission reported that President Karzai (pictured) has received 41 % of the votes so far and his challenger Abdullah Abdullah 39 %. Pulitzer prize-winning author Tracy Kidder (left) stopped by The World studios this morning for an interview with Anchor Jeb Sharp. Kidder talked about his new book, entitled Strength in What Remains. The book tells the story of Deo, a survivor of the decades long civil war that ripped apart the central African nation of Burundi. The new sci-fi movie called District 9 tells the tale of an alien species looking for refuge on earth. Their craft ends up above the city of Johannesburg in South Africa. The humans force the aliens to live in a slum (pictured), called District 9. For today’s quiz, we want to know the name of the real-life slum just outside of Johannesburg where the movie was filmed.
