megrahi-return150The British government has released letters to Scottish ministers on the controversial decision to release the Lockerbie bomber on compassionate grounds. Terminally ill Libyan Abdelbaset Ali al-Megrahi was freed on August 20th. He received a hero’s welcome when he arrived back in Libya (pictured in AP photo) which caused outrage in Britain and the US.
