Latest results from Afghanistan’s presidential election show President Hamid Karzai with 54.1% of the vote, pushing the incumbent past the 50% threshold needed to avoid a run-off with rival Abdullah Abdullah. But the figures were thrown into doubt by the UN-backed election complaints commission ordering a number of recounts and audits of votes. Vox Rock_Pepsi China Battle of the BandsPepsi Co. and Shanghai TV have invited “underground” bands from across China to compete in an American Idol-style TV show. It’s China’s “Battle of the Bands,” and the finals are fast approaching. The winners will get some cash, some new equipment, and a recording contract with Pepsi Co.’s music label. Lamp maker Luxo files suit against Pixar

luxoYou may have seen the animated jumping lamp that is part of Pixar Animation Studios’ logo. As long as Pixar used it as an animated character, Luxo had no issue with it. But this summer, Pixar began selling a Blu-Ray version of their animated film “Up” and as a bonus, a limited edition of a baby Luxo lamp, called “Luxo Jr.” So the Luxo company started to have a problem with that, and they filed a copyright infringement lawsuit last week in New York.
