Hape Kerkeling (left) is one of Germany’s most famous comedians. One of Kerkeling’s alter-egos is a man named Horst Schlämmer (right). Schlämmer, normally, works as the deputy editor of a fictitious German newspaper. But now, Kerkeling has his creation running for public office in the upcoming German elections. And not just any public office. Schlämmer wants to be nothing less than Chancellor. A recent poll found that Schlämmer would receive 18 percent of the vote. Anchor Marco Werman speaks with Schlämmer, and Kerkeling.
