What kills is not the virus itself, but an overwhelming immune response called 'Cytokine Storm' which ends up killing the host while trying to protect it from the virus, Thus the reason why so many healthy, young people succumb. Ironically, it's because their immune system is too healthy. Many researchers think that was what happened in the 1913 epidemic and SARS. If the public was informed through responsible media, I believe many would understand why they need to be immunized. Perhaps the CDC thinks it would cause too big a demand for the vaccine when they don't have a large supply or are afraid of the consequences if it gets out of hand after acknowledging this vital information.
