I was lucky enough to see Michael Brecker and his quartet 6 different times. I have seen over 300 concerts in my lifetime, and I count the Michael Brecker Quartet at the Clifford Brown Jazz Festival in Wilmington, DE, June 11th 2000 as the most exciting and wonderful performance I have ever experienced.
In my opinion, Michael Brecker was the most sdvanced musician of his time, and certainly the best saxophonist of all time--yes, including Coltrane, Dolphy, Bird, etc. Listen to the album he recorded 3 weeks before he died called Pilgrimage...it is amazing. I truly miss Michael.
