Geo Quiz

Largest shellfish port in Europe

We’re looking for a rugged town in the extreme North East corner of Scotland. It’s 40 miles north of Aberdeen along the North Sea. This town claims it’s the largest shellfish port in Europe.

Last year the town hauled in more than 12,000 tons of shellfish. More than half the town works in the fishing industry. But the town is also becoming known for something else – its beer. One of the world’s strongest in fact — 32 proof!

Geo Answer:

…and that town in Scotland known for its shellfish industry, and now for its beer is Fraserburgh.

BrewDog is the local brewery. And it claims to have produced the strongest beer in the world. James Watt is BrewDog’s managing director. He says the potent drink is called “Tactical Nuclear Penguin.”
