Get set for today’s Geo Quiz. Niagara Falls may indeed be spectacular, but they’re small compared to the world’s HIGHEST waterfalls. And those are the falls we want you to name. The majestic Niagara Falls are a mere 167 feet high. The highest falls in the world are 3,200 feet high. They’re located in Canaima National Park, a World Heritage site in the Venezuelan state of Bolivar. The national park itself is mostly jungle:

“Cainama National park has very interesting wildlife from jaguars, tapirs, parrots, macaws, red howler monkeys, anaconda, interesting species of wildlife.”

Fortunately, that guide says there aren’t ever any anacondas or jaguars on the trails leading to the waterfalls. So the coast is clear … for you now … to name those falls. The answer’s coming in just a few minutes. Stickaround.

Angel Falls (indigenous name: “Parakupa-vena”, which means “the fall from the highest point” or “Kerepakupai merú”, which means “waterfall of the deepest place”, in Pemon language; Spanish: Salto Ángel) is the world’s highest waterfall, with a height of 979 m (3,212 ft) and a plunge of 807 m (2,647 ft). It is located in the Canaima National Park (Spanish: Parque Nacional Canaima), a UNESCO World Heritage site in the Gran Sabana region of Bolivar State, Venezuela.
