Today’s Geo Quiz is about countries with more than one official capital. There’s several countries around the globe with multiple capitals. Usually that means that different branches of government are located in different cities.
For example, Chile’s official capital is Santiago. But its national legislature meets in Valparaíso.
Then there’s South Africa. Its administrative is Pretoria, the legislative one is Cape Town, and the judicial capital is Bloemfontein.
Our question for you is about Malaysia. It has two capitals. One is the country’s largest city. Its home to Malaysia’s parliament. But most other government business takes place in a different city — just to the south.
This capital is a planned city — designed to relieve overcrowding and congestion in the capital area.
So — name Malaysia’s two capitals.
The answers are coming up…
The country’s biggest city Kuala Lumpur is one.
The other is Putrajaya — a planned city that is now Malaysia’s administrative center.
So Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya are the answers we were looking for.
