Another European country with economic woes figures in today’s Geo Quiz. We’re searching for a country at the edge of the Baltic Sea. Its neighbors include Russia, Estonia and Belarus. Its economy was on the upswing until about 2007.

But things have since reversed. This country’s unemployment rate has now climbed above 20%, the highest in the European Union. Steep tax increases and spending cuts are on the table.

It’s not a pretty picture. And now a TV news program is reporting that some banks and state-owned companies in this country may be cashing in on the country’s recession.
