For our Geo Quiz today we’re looking for one of Germany’s historic squares. This one’s just a short distance from the Brandenburg Gate.

The square actually marks the point where the old road from the city of Potsdam entered Berlin. This weekend a hotel in this square hosted an international poker tournament. Some of the world’s best poker players were vying for millions in prizes … when suddenly … gunmen stormed in.

Chips scattered, and there was a mad dash for the door.

“I was in the press room and we barricaded the doors as best we could, we just put a chair against outside of it it because at this point we didn’t know whether it was one gunman what they were after and just waited to see what happened really there was not much else we could do.”

We’ll let you know how it all turned out and … where it happened … in just a minute.

The chances are that an international poker tournament would get disrupted by armed robbers might seem slim.
But that’s what happened in Germany over the weekend.

We have an eyewitness to tell the tale… and to give us the answer to our Geo Quiz. Grand Hyatt in Potsdamer Platz, Berlin.
