I was listening to the comentary today concerning saltwater intrusion in the Nile Delta. Sea-level rise may have some impact on this problem, however I would suspect the main culprit is the lack of fresh-water flushing due to the diversion of water out of the Nile River (domestic, industrial, and agricultural uses) and the Aswn Dam decreasing river flow. Using sand from dunes is like putting a band-aid on a scratch, when the real problem is internal hemoraging; this is also creating, as noted, a second impact by destroying dune habitat.

I have always loved Lisa Mullins but I love love love Marco Werman as the host – I don’t want Lisa Mullins to not come back but I don’t want to lose Marco Werman as the main host either!
