Today’s Geo Quiz takes us to a temple of bullfighting. The sport is still popular in a few countries, such as Spain, Portugal, and our destination, Mexico.

The oldest bull ring is the Plaza de Toros in Lima, Peru. It was built in the 18th century. But today’s Geo Quiz sends us in search of the largest bull ring in the world.

It’s in Mexico City, and it holds 48,000 spectators. And fans there this week saw a performance by a Mexican matador, the likes of which they’d never seen before.

Suffice to say, they were not pleased. We’ll learn what happened at the largest bull ring in the world — when we answer today’s Geo Quiz.

Geo Answer:
The cowardly lion is a memorable character in the Wizard of Oz. His virtue it turns out was actually courage. Now we want to tell you about a matador and we’ll leave it to you to decide if he is cowardly or courageous.

The story takes us to Mexico so we’ve connected up with reporter Franc Contreras. Franc — you’re a bullfighting aficionado … tell us about this matador in Mexico City who’s made headlines…

“Oh the poor guy, Christian Hernandez” … Listen to the whole interview:
