Here’s your chance to help the podcast out financially…
The centerpiece of episode 291 is some in-depth and podcast exclusive coverage from a major cyber-security conference in Tallinn, Estonia, which is home to the Cooperative Cyber Defense Center of Excellence (CCD COE). Estonia’s President, Toomas Hendrik Ilves (right), opened the conference with a plea for governments to “get their heads out of the sand” when it comes to cyber-threats. But not everyone at the conference felt that the threats are as great as many make them out to be. So, how do we even define “cyber-war,” and what’s a proportional response to an attack…if you can figure out who perpetrated it. All food for thought and discussion last week in Tallinn, and we’ll bring you the highlights. We’ve also got two, yes two!, tech stories from Belgium. One is on an effort for Dutch speakers and French speakers to find common ground online, and the other is on an artificial turf system that’s getting a workout right now at the World Cup in South Africa.
