For today’s geo quiz, we want you to name a northern region of Israel. According to the gospels, the region was Jesus’ home and where the majority of his ministry was based.

It’s where he’s said to have performed various miracles. He walked on the water of a large lake there, referred to in English as a “sea.” At a wedding in Cana, Jesus turned water into wine for the assembled guests.

Speaking of large parties, scientists can now prove that human beings first began organizing communal feasts thousands of years before Christ. That’s what an archeological site in this northern region of Israel has recently revealed.

… the answer is Galilee where scientists have discovered animal remains that indicate human beings were organizing communal feasts as early as 12,000 years ago. Natalie Munro is a zoo-archeologist with the University of Connecticut.
