There’s a traffic jam in China that, according to officials, could last a whole month. This traffic jam has already lasted nine days and stretched to over 60 miles. It’s happening on a stretch of highway between Inner Mongolia and Hebei province, northwest of Beijing.
A lot of trucks use the road to get goods into the Chinese capital. Apparently all that transiting cargo has caused damage to the road surface. And some much-needed road repairs just got underway – backing up the trucks for miles.
The highway is officially dubbed China’s “National Expressway 110″ but it’s also known by the names of the places at either end of the long road…
…and the answer we’re looking for: the Beijing-Tibet expressway. The World’s correspondent Mary-Kay Magistad has more.
