Global climate change is partly to blame for the abnormally hot and dry weather in Moscow, cloaked in a haze of smoke from wildfires, say researchers. The fires continue to burn in central and western Russia and the smoke and pollution has become unbearable for many in Moscow, and as Jessica Golloher reports, many are gettin’ out of town. Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari has returned to his flood-stricken country, after a foreign tour which has prompted widespread criticism. Roman Coliseum opens to public

The Roman Coliseum will open areas long closed to visitors. Beginning in the fall of 2010 tourists will have a ‘backstage pass’ to the third level of the ancient arena and they’ll also be able to poke around under the stage where tigers and other wild animals were formerly held before taking part in battles. The trial of the youngest remainnig detainee at Guantanamo Bay opened today. Canadian citizen Omar Khadr was just 15 years old when he was captured in 2002. Lt. Col. David Frakt – also defended a teenage detainee from Guantanamo. He tells anchor Katy Clark about the legal issues the US military faces in trying child soldiers for war crimes.
