The United Nations Security Council today condemned the recent spate of terrorist attacks in Iraq. The attacks are targeting Iraq’s large Christian minority. A security council statement said the attacks were appalling, and showed a “deliberate will to destroy the Christian community.” Five people died in attacks on Christian targets in Baghdad on Wednesday, last week, insurgents linked to al-Qaeda declared that all Christians in Iraq were legitimate targets.
