"Stand By Me" is sweet and rhythmic and as most catchy popular pieces is getting almost overplayed (I DJ Latin music as a hobby also), but I still play it now and then. Joan Soriano and his band, on the other hand, are as real as they come (have seen him live). I am sure some of his releases will be "over-played" so to speak, but I have to tell you after overplaying them myself - they still move me every time. It is his soul and heart that tells the story. Joan Soriano and his band (includes family members and other incredible musicians) don't just touch your heart and soul - they pull it out of you. "Aventura" and "Prince Royce". These are young Dominican heartrobs who have added r&b and bilingual lyrics to create a sound that has made bachata extremely commercial and popular. Youtube these guys and you will see. Prince Royce has a version of Ben E King's "Stand By me" that is incredible!
