Thank you, Matthew Bell for a relatively balanced report. You asserted that Palestinian Christians were still a majority when Israel took over Bethlehem in the 1967 war. The decline in the proportion of Christians had already begun before 1967 (as also happened in East Jerusalem between 1948 and 1967). It accelerated after the Palestinian Authority took over the city. While intimidated from speaking out, some Palestinian Christians had the bravery to point out how Muslims had replaced Christians on the City Council with the help of the PA; how Christian properties had been taken over. Recall too that Bethlehem was the source of a great many suicide bombers.

Israel is about the only Middle East country with a growing Christian population.
