The pool atop Changi Airport's Terminal 1 in Singapore. (Changi Airport Group)

This week our topic is: drumroll please … airports. Good airports, bad airports, fun airports, airports that are a complete drag, airports that are remarkably small for the area they serve, the airport you never want to descend into again … ever, abandoned airports, and ghost airports, those big projects that politicians sometimes push with the promise of jobs – and that then just sit there idle.

I’m joined by Tom Hall, the London editor for Lonely Planet, and David Allan, the editor of the BBC’s Travel Website.

Dubai airport is truly one of the best just like the Emirate itself. Even more exciting in the fact that cheap tickets to Dubai from the UK are so readily available now.

i justed listened to this for the first time and heard you all talk about the old TWA terminal at JFK… that was reopened as the JetBlue terminal a few years ago, Its not a ghost terminal.

Is there a transcript anywhere? I teach travel as an ESL topic and I would love to use this in my class if the students could read along that would be great!
