Psychologist Disa Sauter of the Max Planck Institute of Psycholinguistics in the Netherlands studies how expression of human emotions is influenced by culture. Her work sometimes takes her to remote corners of the planet. Sauter recalls the music she heard during a trip to Namibia, where she met an isolated group of people called the Himba.
Disa Sauter was interviewed by Elsa Youngsteadt for our weekly Science Podcast. Youngsteadt edits science news for Sigma Xi, a professional scientific society.
