Where ex-pat Peruvians vote

Peruvians choose a new president this weekend. Here in the US, Peruvian expats can cast absentee ballots. As many as 28,000 eligible voters in the mid-Atlantic states are expected to do just that. We’re looking for the name of a city outside Washington, D.C. where the ex-pats will go to vote. It takes its name from an old wooden church once located along a tobacco rolling road that led to the Potomac River.

So name this city where locals expect big traffic jams as Peruvian voters arrive en masse…

The answer is Falls Church, Virginia. Peruvian expats are expected to show up in droves on Sunday at polling places in Falls Church to cast their absentee ballots in Peru’s presidential election. Anchor Aaron Schachter speaks with Maria Eugenia Chiozza, Deputy Consul General for Peru in Washington about plans to prevent traffic jams and gridlock in Falls Church.
