Robert Ford, US ambassador to Syria recently went to Hama, a city rocked by anti-government protests. When he was there, he was greeted by cheering demonstrators waving olive branches. But the Syrian government accused him of interfering in its domestic affairs. JJ Harder, press secretary at the US embassy in Damascus, spoke to Anchor Marco Werman.
