I enjoyed hearing this story on the radio. I've been particularly aware of street art in my own city lately and enjoy the "public" aspect of the art.

You are so right. Anyone who doesn't appreciate artistic expression is not completely alive.

Thank you for a beautiful story about human expression in difficult circumstances. When I heard your closing theme, it was so unexpected and personally special I nearly cried. Jose Feliciano's Chico and The Man, theme song to the sitcom of the same name, reminds me of my father. He loved Feliciano, Chico and The Man, and Freddie Prinze, Sr. My father would have been pleased, as was I. Again, thank you.

Oximorons abound. Graffiti 'art?' You must be referring to graffiti vandalsism. Promoting social acceptance of this practice is misguided and wrongheaded. Just as calling tatoos 'art' rather than the more appropriate term 'graffiti.' A good question is: "Would I let this tatoo guy paint this on my fence?

The spray-painted statues and buildings in Rome should be lesson enough not to encourage this defacing activity. Let us not loose sight of private and publis property rights just to find small value in a misdirected segment of the population.
