Hey man, this 75 year old dude is hoping you make your “occupy” becomes available on cd.  I’m ready to pull $ from my wallet.  I’ve been sleep on a bench which isn’t old for me going back to the Korean War….peace!!!

Who says the Occupy Movement doesn’t have leaders.  Makana is one of many that will emerge.

It sounded like Marco was a little disappointed that the always cool President Obama didn’t get rattled or had the singer dragged off to a black site like his predecessor would have.  Marco needs to do a better job of hiding his biases.

jannie08 either is completely ignorant or a shill for the very people Makana (it’s NOT MARCO AssH**e)
is singing about. Either join the many or get the F**K out of the way.

jannie is either clueless or simply part of the problem. By the way his name is Makana NOT MARCO. But what can you expect from the ignorant.

I was commenting on the host of the program not the singer – who’s the clueless one?

Just listened to the interview. Thanks for the well written/sung song. And, thanks for singing it in such a great room. Must have been exhilarating. Thanks again.

Thank you for covering this very interesting story, but if I can point out an error. The people of the state of Hawaii do not universally refer to themselves as “Hawaiians”.  Hawaiians are people of a unique culture, language and history. To further clarify, for example, while living in Arizona may make one an “Arizonian” living in Hawaii does not make one a “Hawaiian.” Out of respect for the Hawaiian culture, I think its important to understand this distinction.

He seemed stunned that no one noticed the words he was singing.  That was because he was simply background noise to an event…. similar to Musak.   He should get over himself.

Two years ago in Honolulu I stumbled across Makana  playing slack giutar at a farmers market. It didn’t take long to realize he had a voice and command of guitar. For the people who have the luxury of criticizing Makana for being disappointed Obama didn’t react…it’s their problem. Very mean spirited people who simply don’t get it.
