RE: Your brief report on the Japanese politician drinking decontaminated water from Fukushima.

What is it about “decontaminated” that you do not understand? I am no fan of things atomic at all, but the irrational, fear-mongering reaction to events in Japan is unprofessional. The water was decontaminated. That means that contamination was removed. What problem is there drinking it? And your cute remark that he still seems well is uncalled for. Even, and you know full well there was not, if there was some residual “contamination,” the effects of it would take years to show up, and the amount in a glass of water would be trivial.

Please try to be more rational and objective in reporting stories such as this.
