The Nixon-Kissinger tilt in favour of the
Pakistani junta’s genocidal war against the Bengali population of East Pakistan
in 1971 is now well documented in declassified papers. In addition to those who
courageously attempted to block arms shipments to Pakistan, there was also a
small number of informed Americans, including Senator Ted Kennedy, who threw
their political weight behind the Bangladesh cause eventually persuading the Nixon Administration
to change US policy. Bangladeshis today recognize and honour these individuals.

I express my hat's-off salute to Mr Richard Taylor and his friends as well as Dr. Elliot Gevis for their heroic and gallantry effort in creating blockade for shipping US Military Aid to Pakistan. May God bless your enlightened humanity! I intend to write an article in the Bangladeshi newspaper about it.

Cant believe "India" is not mentioned even once? India sacrificed so much of its resources/people to free "Bangladesh" from Pakistan.
Inaccurate story telling... very sad ... it just makes a god story for those who do not know the history

They deserve our sincere gratitude and thanks of our nation for their support to our cause during our struggle for independence from Pakistani brutal military force in 1971. They shall ever be in our hearts. Expect American common people always against any kind of injustices and atrocities in the name of geo-politics.

Salute to those activists who protested USA to export these weapons to bloody Pakistan Army in 1971 and helped us to get freedom of our motherland Bangladesh. Through their movement they saved million of innocent Bengali's lives. We are very grateful to them.

I applaud their intentions and actions. I do wish they would also support the freedom movements of Palestinians and Kashmiris who die by the hundreds every day fighting for their cause!
