I don’t buy this premise for one second. For generations people in govt., and govt. itself, have harmed society by hiding information or colluding with corrupt outsiders to hide information.

If Wikileaks existed in an age of glass house openness and was the equivalent of supermarket checkout-aisle gossip and fantasy rags, then a comparison might be made; yet many who can reason properly would respond by saying that in order to counter the bogus gossip rags, more openness is good as it will only serve to counter mischaracterizations.

But the fact is Wikileaks came about specifically because more and more documents were being hidden; and because (at least) our own govt. was so blatantly violating the Constitution.

So blaming Wikileaks for more perceived information hiding is just the sly continuing to do what they do best, spin everything in their favor and blame others instead of themselves. I refer to this as the wife-beater-effect, "this is your fault. I have to beat you because I love you. You are the only one who acts this way. If you could only show some love then it would go well for you." etc…

Here's what I have to say. Wikilieaks will seem like just one drop in the ocean come Judgement Day when EVERYTHING will be exposed and out in the open in amazingly bright light; EVERY WORD, EVERY ACTION, will be laid bare and seen as an intrinsic part of the person who spoke those words and performed those actions. No amount of fancy clothing draped over a person or diamonds and gold will be able to hide it or distract from it. Christians should take this for granted, Jesus clearly says that nothing is hidden, except to make it known later.

The ONLY way to prevent shameful words and actions from being exposed is to not only repent, but to WORK TO UNDO THE DAMAGE they've caused!
