An Open Apology to Mocean Worker

Candygram For Mowo

It’s a new year.

I want to face the next 12 months with a clear conscience. So Mocean Worker… please accept my apology.

In my last blog entry, I lamented on my yearly task of finding amazing music to feature on our broadcast during the holiday season.

I praised you, Mocean Worker. I declared you my delivery from the mediocrity of canned tinsel tunes.

I waxed poetic over your kickin’ version of Joy to the World.

It’s creative, it’s hot, it’s jammin’.

I used your name in the same line with the sublime Duke Ellington and the remix of his jazzy Jingle Bells.

I even invited our listeners to catch your “Joy” on our broadcast during the holiday week.

And then…..

I didn’t play it.

Duke Ellington’s Bells made it to air. But you Mocean Worker, did not.

It was decided that we should seek out more international fusion and less remixes. The powers that be felt that the multicultural mix was more in keeping with our signature sound.

So Mocean Worker, you didn’t make the cut.

My deepest apologies.

Abraham Lincoln was himself much preoccupied with Genesis 3:19, “In the
sweat of your face you shall eat bread.” In May 1864, he wrote to a
delegation of Baptists, “To read in the Bible, as the word of God
himself, that ‘In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread,’ and to
preach there–from that, ‘In the sweat of other mans faces shalt thou
eat bread,’ to my mind can scarcely be reconciled with honest
sincerity.” Later that same year he replied to the wife of a
Confederate prisoner who had appealed to him for the release of her
husband: “You say your husband is a religious man; tell him when you
meet him, that I say I am not much of a judge of religion,Essay writing UK
