Russia, along with China, vetoed a resolution in the United Nations over the weekend calling for President Bashar al-Assad to step down.

The two countries, that are permanent members of the Security Council, see any such resolution as a potential violation of Syria’s sovereignty.

They were the receiving-end of a lot of criticism.

US secretary of state, Hillary Clinton responded, “What more do we need to know to act decisively in the Security Council?”
