For the Geo Quiz, we are looking for a city in Czech Republic. It is not the capital Prague.

We are looking for a city in the eastern part of the country.

This city is the historic capital of Moravia and was a big trading hub in Middle Ages.

There is a story that Julius Caesar founded the original settlement though it is unlikely he ever set foot there.

Still, the city began as a Roman military camp with the Julius’ Hill.

It is a city full of churches including a thousand-year-old cathedral.

Olomouc is the answer to the Geo Quiz.

For a city that goes back centuries, modern-day Olomouc is pretty trailblazing. It hosts a multimedia festival that recently commissioned an awe-inspiring bit of digital art.

This is truly awesome and well in keeping with wonderful visual productions throughout the Czech Republic, including Moravia.  I have visited the country many times and often saw puppet shows, as well as the famous “Black Light theater in Prague, the folks in that region are very creative!   Bill Gasperini, Boston
