Various countries, especially in Europe, are confronting the reality of shared political power. Recent election results have produced the need for governing coalitions.

But coalitions, political and otherwise, are tricky beasts, as The World’s Alex Gallafent finds out.

The current fiscal crisis is making it more difficult for parties for form coalitions. And then once the governments have formed it’s making it more difficult for them to be stable.
