The Bombay Royale: Retro-Bollywood Music from Australia

The Bombay RoyaleThe songs on the new album “You Me Bullets Love” sound like the soundtrack to a long lost Bollywood-James Bond film.

But there is no film and the music is new.

The soundtrack to this imaginary film is by the Australia-based band, The Bombay Royale. Lisa Mullins speaks to three members of the group.

This is terrific music, one is able to see that Led Zeppelin’s journey through Middle Eastern and other South Asian countries provided them with a larger mental sound library to draw upon that became so evident in the rhythms and melodic guitar qualities of Bonham and Page respectively; this is seen in Physical Graffiti and everything else Zeppelin turned out up until Bonham’s death.  Very choice.
