Hey Rim Jeon is a classically trained pianist, but after hearing an Oscar Peterson recording, she got hooked on jazz.

She tells Marco Werman she loves to play by ear, loves to improvise and that led her to discover jazz.

Hey Rim Jeon performs live from WGBH’s Fraser performance studio:

I’m sure you know this but Whitney Houston did not write “I will always love you.” She sang it brilliantly but the song was written by American singer-songwriter Dolly Parton. who should be given credit for it. Hey Rim Jeon certainly plays it beautifully…I’m sure Dolly would be proud.

dialyn beat me to it, but that is most definitely Dolly Parton’s “I Will Always Love You.”  Whitney was but another interpreter of the song.  (And frankly, I prefer Hey Rim Jeon’s version!)
