Bet you didn’t know that the World Series gets under way very soon.

You don’t have to wait till October for the 2012 Little League World Series…and it really is a world championship.

Teams from Panama, Japan, Kuwait, Mexico, Japan, Uganda, Curacao, and Taipei and the USA will soon take the field in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

So for our Geo Quiz, we’re looking for the name of the Ugandan town that sent its top 12-year-old pitchers, shortstops and outfielders .

The town’s located 30 miles or so east of Uganda’s capital, Kampala. The town is a big sugar producer, and it’s not too far from Lake Victoria.

The answer to our Geo Quiz comes courtesy of Richard Stanley who’s helped get Little League baseball established in Uganda, and two of Uganda’s top Little League baseball players, shortstop Tonny Okello and third baseman Ronald Olaa.

The tournament marks the first time ever a Little League baseball team from Africa has make it to the world series. The team’s hometown is Lugazi, Uganda.
