The only people that this law discriminates against are the stupid, uneducated in the world. They fail to understand the long term ramifications of killing sharks. I hope the law carries stiff penalties and jail time for those found to break the law.

Let’s on to the bottom: If the law really want to protect shark, why it don’t give any restriction to kill shark for any purposes in California. The State still issues licence to kill shark as many as 200,000 pound a year. Sharks can be legally killed as usual for their meat, bones, skins or just for recreational purpose. Only the fins have to throw away. Does it make any sense except putting the blame on Chinese American? No matter how the supporters say, California Shark Fin Ban is a discriminatory law.
