Mr. Werman, however, seemed a bit amused by the conversation, chuckling when he might have been quite serious in asking which species are going extinct; and Mr. Gregory politely followed suit, telling the story of how he began birding at age 4 "and that's a bit odd, really, I suppose, isn't it?"
