Pacifika’s Silvana Kane: Songs of South America

Silvana Kane is best known for fronting the Vancouver-based band Pacifika.

Now, as a solo artist, Kane goes back to the songs of her youth, songs she heard while growing up in Peru.

Many are classics throughout South America.

She says recording these standards is her way to pay tribute to her South American musical heroes.

People like Peru’s Chabuca Granda and Chilean composer Violeta Parra who wrote the album’s title track.
