I was very disturbed that you parroted Israel’s racist self-declaration as “the Jewish state” today in light of its 20% Palestinian minority and another 5 million Palestinians held under occupation and blockade in the land its own maps show as “Israel” – everything from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean. It is an apartheid state and colonial occupier, and Jews are no longer even a majority in the territory it controls.

You then proceeded to report puzzlement that Israel would at last acknowledge an assassination. The answer was made obvious by your story! It enabled them to once again resurrect the image of a fearsome Palestinian terrorist. The “terrorist” description by news organizations was their obvious purpose to once again demonize Palestinians who in fact engage in NON-VIOLENT resistance every day and haven’t sent a suicide bomber since 2005, but you obligingly took the bait!! Israel is losing the propaganda war since the world is learning the truth about who is terrorizing whom, so they resorted to this old, stale “evocative image” tactic.

It is your duty as journalists to INVESTIGATE and report the TRUTH, not simply serve as stenographers for those in power. Here’s a good place to start, with the words of an IDF general’s son: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TOaxAckFCuQ

It is an apartheid state and colonial occupier, and Jews are no longer even a majority much less exclusive citizens in the territory it controls.
