Jenni Rivera: Queen of Banda is Remembered

Fans of Mexican-American singer and actress Jenni Rivera are in mourning.

The Mexican-American singer and actress died after her plane disappeared early Sunday morning.

Rivera was killed when the Learjet 25 went down in Nuevo Leon state.

She had just given a concert in Monterrey, Mexico.

Also on board were four members of her entourage and two pilots.

She was born in California in 1969 to Mexican parents, sold more than 15 million records of norteno and banda music.

She was a judge in the popular television program “La Voz,” Mexico’s version of “The Voice.”

    Gustavo Rivera wins whiner of the day. Takes away from the whole story about Ms. Rivera.

    Keep it positive and you’re message will be so much more powerful.

      I liked what Gustavo Rivera had to say.  I am communicating with a guy in Honduras about the standing of our two countries.  I particularly liked the comment on LA Times coverage of her importance to the poor, but not having overall significance. Selling as much as Taylor Swift somehow doesn’t create acceptance.

      For Happy Talk of the famous when they die, I refer you to ATC on NPR where they celebrate the person’s life.

    Glad to hear PRI had a segment on Jenni Rivera. Though I wasn’t a fan, it has been quite interesting to see the massive media coverage on the Spanish TV networks here in the USA and in Mexico.

    Es triste que Jenni Rivera muerta en el accidente.  Muchos personas recordaran la música

     de este cantante.  El estilo tiene mucho poder especialmente con mujeres.  La música da unn mensaje a los mujeras con problemas como violencia domestica.  Rivera era inspiración

     a muchas mujeres.  Pero menos personas conoce Jenni Rivera.  Su música es popular solo en Mexico y a las personas hispanicas.  No es popular en los Estados Unidos cuando vendo       milliones de albumes. Este estilo debe ser popular en los Estados Unidos para recordar la vida y la música de Jenni Rivera.

    Es muy triste que haya muerto, especialmente tan joven.  Ella era una mujer muy importante y será extrañado por muchos.  Este accidente es muy trágico, y occurre raramente, pero eso lo hace más horrible.  Me siento mal por la familia de Señora Rivera y la familia de los otros que murieron en el accidente de avión.  Les envío mis rezos.

    El hecho que los aviones que estan manufacturado no estan listo para viajar, o que en este dia no estaba preparado para un vuelo, me da miedo.  Se que estaba un avion pequena con pocos personas, pero debia mas preparado.  En el futuro, quiero que los aviones esten preparado mas antes de volando, asi cosas como eso no pasan.  Es muy triste que Jenni Rivera, o cada persona que han muerto en un accidente de avion necesitaban ir este manera.

    It is so sad that Jenni Rivera died, especially because it was so unexpected and it happened in such a tragic way, she was so young. She will definitely be remembered by her millions of fans.

    That’s really sad that she died. Going down in a plane crash is a horrible way to die. I definitely think she’ll be remembered by all of her fans though. She was so young too.

    It’s terrible that the world lost such a talented artist. Her legacy will be remembered forever. Losing a Latina artist like this reminds me slightly of Selena.

    Yo pienso Jenni Rivera fue una mujer fantástica. Ella cantó desde el corazón. Ella utilizó su música para ayudar a las mujeres. Es muy triste que ella se muerta. Espero que descanse en paz. Su musica es muy bonita.
