Anger is deepening in India, where residents are holding vigils in memory of a 23-year-old gang rape victim who died this past weekend.

Ananya Vajpeyi, an associate fellow with the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies in New Delhi attended two very different protests on New Year’s eve.

Twice I heard a male reporter with pri use the phrase, in relation to the victim of this brutal act, “she finally did die” and ‘has finally died.”   I was disturbed to hear it reported with these words.  I believe what the reporter meant to say was “she did die” or “she has, tragiclaly, now died.”  The horror of her injuries should not be minimized with glib language.  I know this wan’t your particular report, but I don’t know how to get ithis information to the reporter.  I believe it was Gere H..?
If you could pass this along, I would appreciate it.
