Cheating in sports has dominated the news for the last several days since American cyclist Lance Armstrong confessed to years of doping.

His dishonesty casts a shadow over an entire sport, even its honest competitors but as The World’s Gerry Hadden reports from Barcelona, good guys can finish first.

    This is our day to day human nature, but we do not often notice it because it is so unexceptional (except in a case such as this).  We do ourselves a diservice if we take cheaters as the paradigms.  The reason we notice cheaters is precisely because they are NOT the norm.

    Me encanta que todavía existen personas honestas en el mundo que obtienen reconocimiento en lugar de las corruptos. Fernández da a los atletas inspiración para ser honesto y no engañar. Admiro mucho a Fernández y todas las demás personas honestas por ahí, ya que motivar a otros a hacer lo bueno también.

    Esta accion por Ivan Fernandez es una cosa muy magnifico y me hace feliz.  Permitando Abel Mutai a ganar porque no entendio que no ya ha ganado es un accion bueno, pero tambien en mi opinion no es loco.  Fernandez desierve todo la publicidad que recibe, pero realmente no tuvo una opcion.  Es la cosa normal a hacer porque en realidad habia perdido y Abel deservo la raza.  Es un accion muy inspirador por Ivan y me gusta mucho el hecho que Abel gano, pero en mi opinion debio hacer eso.

    Well, I guess this is nice. Yes, it was good sportsmanship and yes he did the right thing. Can’t say I have too much to write about this which makes for a very boring comment unlike the usual ones for Spanish class. Bravo to him.

      I agree with you whole heartily Felipe. It was a nice show of sportsmanship and it was a nice thing to do. It’s nice to see people doing nice things for one another.

    magnifico que Fernández no se aproveche de equivocación de su competidor.  Demostró característicos de un buen
    deportista.  El mundo de deportista
    necesita cuentos de buen deportistas. 
    Cuando Lance Armstrong hablo el verdad sobre dragos, muchos personas estuvieron
    triste porque era modelo de conducto. 
    Pero hay necesita ser deportistas como Iván Fernández.

    Pienso que fernandez es una buena persona.es muy simpatico porque el no gano para otra persona pudia. Este accion me hace feliz porque hente puden mirar que todavia hay hente buenos en el mundo .

    I agree with Felipe. It was a good thing for him to do. Sportsmanship is a very important thing and many people do not show it.

    La historia de Lance Armstrong es muy triste porque el era un heroe de mi.  Y dos semanas desques el confesion de Armstrong, oi que Lindsay Vaughn es la novia de Tiger Woods. Entonces Tom Brady perdio el partido antes del Super Bowl.  Estos semanas pasado estuvieron muy triste para mi en el mundo de los deportes pero este historia es muy feliz y tiene un buen leccion para todos deportes.

    Creo que es triste que Lance le mintió al mundo. Pero me alegro de que Fernández jugó limpio. Un deporte no es “real” cuando la gente hace trampa. Es muy bien para ver las cosas buenas que están pasando en el mundo. Fernández es un gran héroe.

    i think it was really nice of him to do this it shows he is a very kind hearted person and that being a good person is more important to him than a race.

    I think it was very nice that Fernandez did this. It shows his great sportsmanship and that he is willing to lose a race for the happiness of someone else. It is also devastating about how Lance Armstrong cheated.  He inspired so many people who are now probably let down.
