		<description>Travelers are interested in the cultural differences, not the poverty per se .  The favela tour was one of the most interesting things we did in Brazil. Perhaps we better understand how other people live through such experiences, and can be more empathetic as a result. 		<description>I think it would be awesome to visit.  And many foreigners see a potential gold mine waiting to happen.  Not the tours themselves, but the potential property value.</description>
