Earlier this week, about 4,000 people boarded the subway in New York City, took off their pants and rode in their underwear.

Just for fun.

It was the 12th annual No Pants Subway Ride and thousands of people in 17 countries participated in the stunt.

This year, for the first time, people went pants-less in Jerusalem.

As Daniel Estrin reports, that was a daring thing to do in a city filled with large populations of religiously devout Jews and Muslims.

This report was produced in collaboration with Tablet Magazine.
