		<description>Naw I don&#039;t beleive that, no matter how many peer reviewed papers come out demonizing soot, CO2 is still the devil. Soot can be seen and it can be fixed, OTOH CO2 is invisible and there is no way to fix it so soot will never replace CO2 as the new devil.

		<description>Al Gore deserves a bit of credit here. &quot;Our Choice,&quot; his 2009 book on climate change, idenitified soot/black carbon as a major contributor to global warming. He ranked it as the third largest contributor, after methane as well as carbon dioxide, but you can&#039;t blame him for not knowing the results of a study published four years later. (Besides, it depends on how you weigh the duration factor - methane remains in the atmosphere way longer than soot.)</description>
