Last summer, Cleveland hosted Marine Week. It was very interesting to stand next to tanks, helicopters and Marines! The best time for me to see Goodwin, a black lab, showing off his talents how to find bombs. He has been deployed many times and have been a wonderful helper for his handler and LOTS of other perple. I wasn't able to hug him but I said Thank you to him for his great service.
Sorry I can't figure out to add his photo.

Hearing your story on The World brought back to me my stunningly magnificent German Shepard Zack who would only have been a year or so older than Rex. When I heard you talk about him I said to myself "Black and Tan!" My dog never did national service, and he died very young at about 4 from some terrible virus. He was never wounded in combat; but oh my gosh did he love to chase a few deer! And hour later he'd come home covered with mud. I've had a lot of dogs and love them all, but, wow, Zack was something really special, and I think he and Rex might have had a fine time together. I've pasted in a picture, much more domestic that Rex, but, well, that's how we were.
